NOW HIRING: FUNCTIONAL NUTRITIONIST

Functional Nutritionist
Paid on an hourly or per-client basis | Join a flexible, virtual practice with room to grow

May 23, 2025

About the Opportunity

I’m accepting applications through June 21, 2025 for an experienced Functional Nutritionist to join my practice and support a growing client base.

My clients are looking for help managing chronic health conditions with a nutrient-dense, anti-inflammatory diet and a nervous system-friendly, root-cause approach. You can read more about me (Robin Randisi) and the way that I work right here on this site. I value integrity, a commitment to inclusivity, a willingness to learn, attention to detail, and strong communication skills in team members.

This is a part-time role that’s perfect for someone who loves root-cause work; has experience running functional medicine labs; wants to practice in a collaborative, calm, client-centered space; and is comfortable supporting complex cases, such as gut health, hormone health, autoimmunity, pelvic pain, metabolic health, and nervous system dysregulation. It’s a great fit for someone wanting to transition into private practice without having to build their own business from scratch, or for someone already in private practice who has room in their schedule long-term for additional clientele.

You’ll provide personalized nutrition guidance from within a well-established, highly supportive practice that honors the science of functional nutrition as well as the innate wisdom of the nervous system.

About the Practice

We offer trauma-aware, functionally grounded nutrition support for people navigating chronic symptoms—things like digestive issues, hormone imbalances, blood sugar dysregulation, autoimmune flares, and chronic pelvic pain.

We don’t do one-size-fits-all protocols here. We aim to listen deeply, honor nuance, and support the whole person. Our approach is nervous-system-aware, weight-neutral, LGBTQIA+-inclusive, and rooted in empowerment, not fear or restriction.

Our clients tend to be thoughtful, curious, and fairly health-savvy already. They’re looking for someone to guide them with clarity and a non-judgmental approach.

Our focus is sustainable food and lifestyle modifications integrated with functional medicine labs and somatic/nervous system support. We often order and review labs for our clients and/or suggest blood work or other testing to ask their doctor for, although we also strongly believe in being very judicious with lab testing and our clients’ budgets (as opposed to over-utilizing tons of expensive, specialty labs).

We value a team approach that involves collaborating amongst ourselves as well as with the other providers and practitioners supporting our clients. We often refer out for supportive modalities and encourage collaboration with our clients’ existing providers.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct virtual 1:1 client sessions by phone and video chat

  • Review intake forms, timelines, food journals, and lab results (primarily GI, hormone, bloodwork)

  • Create and deliver personalized nutrition and lifestyle plans

  • Create and provide supplement protocols

  • Provide lab testing recommendations and lab analysis when appropriate

  • Maintain clear documentation and follow-up notes

  • Respond to client messages and questions in our client portal between sessions

  • Meet regularly with Robin to review client cases

  • Collaborate and communicate with Robin and our Client Coordinator as needed

  • Are looking to join a practice where you can grow and collaborate on client care and share clinical insights

  • Can commit to being part of this practice for at least 1-2 years

  • Are based in the United States, in a state where your scope of practice legally allows you to see 1:1 nutrition clients

  • Take a client-centered, trauma-aware, weight-neutral approach to healing

  • Have strong clinical skills and a grounded, compassionate bedside manner

  • Are comfortable working independently and remotely

  • Are comfortable working with a very diverse client population, including trans and nonbinary clients

  • Bonus if you have experience with food sensitivity, organic acids, bioresonance, or HTMA testing

  • Bonus if you have experience with menstrual cycle/fertility tracking using basal body temps, cervical fluid, etc (FAM or a similar method)

Position Details

  • Part-time, contract-based, and paid on an hourly or per-client basis

  • Flexibility within reason to set your own availability for client sessions (note that most of our clientele is based on the East Coast)

  • We often work with clients long-term, so I’m hoping to find someone who is willing to commit to joining the practice for at least the next 1-2 years

  • I’m open to hiring a practitioner who has their own private practice if we can agree up front about how to we’d navigate any potential conflicts of interest
