Rewire your nervous system
Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) is a unique listening therapy we offer to our 1:1 clients to help support nervous system regulation and overall wellbeing
Shift your survival responses and learn to thrive
The Safe & Sound Protocol is a 12-week program that uses specially filtered music to send cues of safety to your nervous system, building the foundation for greater awareness, embodiment, and resilience.
Support Your Nervous System
Safe & Sound Protocol is for you if:
You consistently find yourself unable to take the steps you know are necessary to create the change that you desire
You’re dealing with overwhelm, anxiety, fatigue, or chronic stress that often prevents you from tending to your physical or emotional needs
You know your nervous system needs some TLC, but you’re not sure how to actually regulate
You’re ready to break free from old patterns and coping mechanisms
You’re stuck in survival mode, or dealing with trauma or burnout
Your body is highly reactive to foods, supplements, medications, or your external environment
You’ve tried lots of other modalities, healing therapies, and mind-body support, and nothing has really helped
You’re craving more authenticity, connection, and joy in your life
You’re looking for a somatic-based tool for stress, anxiety, overwhelm, chronic illness, or pain – something different than meditation or breathwork
You want to feel fully present in your body, and responsive to its needs
You want to build capacity in your nervous system so that you’re less reactive, more grounded and as resilient as possible.
What to expect with SSP
Step 1
If you’re a new client interested in SSP, apply here so we can make sure it will be a good fit for your needs! We work with folks who want nutrition support, SSP support, or a combination of the two.
If you’re an established 1:1 client, contact us to inquire about accessing SSP support.
Step 2
We’ll schedule your SSP intake session (60-90 minutes, depending on whether you’re a new or established client).
You’ll fill out some assessment forms and questionnaires and meet with our SSP practitioner, Sandy Jones, so she can create a customized therapeutic listening protocol based on your needs.
Step 3
You’ll meet with Sandy 1-2x per month (30 minutes per session), for the next 3-4 months so that she can continue to guide your personalized listening experience and help you get the most out of SSP. Sandy will also be available over our client portal for any SSP questions or concerns that come up between sessions.
You’ll listen to your track (usually for a few minutes each day) until you’ve finished your track. By that time, most people report significant improvements in their wellbeing and ability to feel more grounded and present in their bodies.
We’re here to help!

Build resilience in your nervous system through the Safe & Sound Protocol
-
SSP uses music that’s unlike any other – although you may already be familiar with the tracks, which include options for classical music, pop music, and even children’s music for pediatric populations. However, it’s filtered through a patented algorithm that highlights specific sound frequencies that are similar to the human voice. As you listen to the music of the SSP, these highlighted frequencies send cues of safety to your nervous system, which can help you feel more balanced.
-
You’ll listen to your SSP track through an app that you access via your phone. You’ll also need headphones that meet specific requirements, which we will help you source.
-
You’ll receive customized guidance on what activities are most supportive of your listening experience. Most often, a calming activity (like coloring) is recommended.
-
Usually, yes! Children and adults can benefit. Fill out our application form and indicate you’re interested in SSP and we’ll get back to you about whether SSP will be a good fit for your needs!
-
SSP is based in Polyvagal Theory, which posits that the vagus nerve (an essential component of the parasympathetic nervous system) has two structural pathways whose manifestations are either feeling safe, calm, and resilient or feeling unsafe, anxious, or shut down. Dr. Stephen Porges is the author of Polyvagal Theory and the creator of the Safe & Sound Protocol.
-
SSP is the exact same cost and structure as our 1:1 Nutrition sessions – as a new client, you’d start with a 90-minute comprehensive intake session, and then meet with us on a monthly basis via our 1:1 Monthly Membership.
As a returning client, you’d start with a 60-minute SSP session, and then meet with us on a monthly basis via our 1:1 Monthly Membership.
Some clients may wish to intersperse SSP support with nutrition support, and we’re happy to allow for that flexibility when possible and if appropriate for your needs.
