Rewire your nervous system
Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) is a sound-based modality that builds resilience in the nervous system and supports overall wellbeing
Shift your survival response & LEARN TO thrive
We offer guided 1:1 nervous system support via two unique listening therapies: Safe & Sound Protocol (SSP) and Rest & Restore Protocol (RRP). Both modalities use specially altered music to send cues of safety to your nervous system, building the foundation for greater awareness, embodiment, and resilience.
Our SSP/RRP-certified practitioner Sandy Jones creates a customized listening program based on your unique needs. She’s also there to support you with guidance and regular check-in appointments throughout the process.
Gentle support for your nervous system
Safe & Sound Protocol is for you if:
You consistently find yourself unable to take the steps you know are necessary to create the change that you desire
You’re dealing with overwhelm, anxiety, fatigue, or chronic stress that often prevents you from tending to your physical or emotional needs
You know your nervous system needs some TLC, but you’re not sure how to actually regulate
You’re ready to break free from old patterns and coping mechanisms
You’re stuck in survival mode, or dealing with trauma or burnout
Your body is highly reactive to foods, supplements, medications, or your external environment
You’ve tried lots of other modalities, healing therapies, and mind-body support, and nothing has really helped
You’re craving more authenticity, connection, and joy in your life
You’re looking for a somatic-based tool for stress, anxiety, overwhelm, chronic illness, or pain – something different than meditation or breathwork
You want to feel fully present in your body, and responsive to its needs
You want to build capacity in your nervous system so that you’re less reactive, more grounded, and more resilient
You benefit from guided 1:1 support, with regular check-ins and touchpoints along the way
What to expect with SSP
Step 1
If you’re a new client interested in Safe & Sound Protocol, apply here so we can make sure it will be a good fit for your needs! We offer SSP (and RRP) to folks who are enrolled in our monthly membership for 1:1 support, either as a standalone option or as an add-on to nutrition support.
If you’re an established 1:1 client, contact us to inquire about accessing SSP/RRP support.
Step 2
We’ll schedule your SSP/RRP intake session (60-90 minutes, depending on whether you’re a new or established client).
You’ll fill out some assessment forms and questionnaires and meet with our SSP-certified and RRP-certified practitioner, Sandy Jones, so she can create a customized, therapeutic listening protocol based on your needs. Your program will include SSP listening, RRP listening, or a combination of the two.
Step 3
You’ll meet with Sandy 2x/month (30 minutes per session) for 3-4 consecutive months.
Sandy will guide your personalized listening experience and help you get the most out of this unique therapeutic experience. She’ll also be available over our client portal for any SSP/RRP-related questions or concerns that come up between sessions.
After 3-4 months working with an SSP/RRP practitioner, most people report significant improvements in their wellbeing and their ability to feel more grounded and present in their bodies.

Build resilience in your nervous system with our unique 1:1 support
-
SSP and RRP are both listening modalities that use specially filtered music to help recalibrate the autonomic nervous system. They’re complementary therapies with a few key differences—though don’t worry, you won’t need to choose between them. Your practitioner will customize your listening program as appropriate for your needs and incorporate SSP and/or RRP as appropriate for your situation.
SSP supports co-regulation, anxiety, sensory challenges, an overactive fight-or-flight response, and building a sense of safety in the body.
RRP supports internal regulation, connection to self, a healthy rest-and-digest response, chronic constipation, and a more grounded and embodied baseline.
-
No, it’s just an option we offer.
We’ve found Safe & Sound Protocol and Rest & Restore Protocol integrate well with nutrition support and/or group coaching, and we try to provide flexible options for our clients who want to take advantage of guided 1:1 nervous system support, but there’s no obligation!
Some clients may choose to begin our work together primarily with SSP. For others, we may want to focus entirely on nutrition, or consider utilizing both nutrition and SSP support together at some point. That’s something you and your practitioner decide on together.
-
Your SSP/RRP experience will unfold over 3-4 months. During that time, you’ll be guided by your practitioner on how to apply and adjust your listening program (listening for just a few minutes per day is typical).
Although it takes time to recalibrate the autonomic nervous system, the actual daily commitment for SSP/RRP is quite manageable for most folks, which is one of the reasons we love it.
-
it sounds like regular music, and you’re likely already familiar with the tracks available, which include options for classical music, pop music, and even children’s music for pediatric populations.
SSP uses music that’s filtered through a patented algorithm that highlights specific sound frequencies that are similar to the human voice. As you listen to your designated SSP track, these highlighted frequencies send cues of safety to your nervous system, which can help you feel more balanced. Over your time listening (generally 3-4 months), the specific frequencies included will gradually increase, which helps build more tolerance and ease in the nervous system.
RRP, on the other hand, uses a patent-pending sonic augmentation technology for acoustic parameters that go beyond traditional sound design, integrating the scientific knowledge of endogenous biological rhythms with the nervous system’s potential to be entrained through rhythmic stimulation.
-
You’ll listen to your SSP or RRP tracks through an app that you access via your phone. We’ll also need to make sure you have headphones that meet specific requirements (over the ear, non-noise canceling), which we can help you source if necessary.
-
You’ll receive customized guidance on what activities are most supportive of your listening experience. With SSP, for example, most often a calming activity (like coloring) is recommended.
-
Usually, yes! Children and adults can benefit. Fill out our application form and indicate you’re interested in Safe & Sound Protocol and we’ll get back to you.

SSP is based in Polyvagal Theory, which posits that the vagus nerve (a key part of the parasympathetic nervous system) has two structural pathways whose manifestations are either feeling safe, calm, and resilient or feeling unsafe, anxious, or shut down. Dr. Stephen Porges is the author of Polyvagal Theory and the creator of the Safe & Sound Protocol. More info is available here.
RRP was developed by Dr. Stephen Porges and Anthony Gorry and is informed by decades of research that combines physiological rhythms in the body (including heart rate, respiration, blood pressure, and the gut) with advanced acoustic technology that modulates neural rhythms. More info is available here.

We offer SSP/RRP via the same structure and cost as our 1:1 Nutrition sessions — as a new client, you’d start with a 90-minute comprehensive intake session to discuss your health history and make a personalized plan for your needs. You’ll meet with us on a monthly basis via our 1:1 Monthly Membership, regardless of whether you’re doing SSP/RRP for nervous system support, 1:1 nutrition, or a combination of the two together.
For clients who are utilizing both nutrition and SSP/RRP simultaneously, we charge an add-on fee of $135/month.
You may also need to purchase headphones that meet SSP/RRP specifications if you don’t already have some (a one-time $105 purchase).
